Model of Transition Between Causes of Death

This paper describes an attempt to estimate the probabilities of transition between various major causes of death during the period 1954–1962. The regression coefficients have been estimated from French departement death rates for ten main or typical causes of death, assessed by sex for the age group 45–64 years.
